Happy Mother's Day

I'm not sure how we are going to top this Mother's Day :-)  It was amazing and I loved ever minute of it.  It started with daddy letting me stay in bed while he got you ladies up and changed.  Emma you come into our room, climbed on the bed, perched yourself on top of me and said "Happy Mother's Day Mommy" in the clearest pronunciation and my heart melted.  That was it, that was all I needed.  Then a few minutes later, Lily you came in and with a little prompting from daddy said that same thing.  Again my heart melted.  I was content at the moment and knew it was going to be an amazing day.

While daddy went to get bagels for breakfast, we watched a little Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  I was so content to watch you ladies enjoy on of your favorite TV shows.
After our yummy bagels. We played with your bikes on the back porch while daddy cleaned the pool.  Once daddy was done, I thought it would be fun to have you go on your first road ride.  It was so much fun to watch you ladies take off and just go go go!

And here is a movie that I made to remember this event.

After bike riding we decided to open the pool for the summer, well it's not technically summer yet.  Here you are wearing your new bathing suits that the easter bunny left you.
we won't tell anyone that mommy had to pin the shorts to keep them up :-)
I was really excited for you to try out the puddle jumpers that we got you last year.  You both started calling them your octopus.

Once you were all suited up, you slowly started to enter the pool.

You took turns with daddy in the pool.  I will say that you were a bit apprehensive about the octopus, but both warmed up very nicely and even were "swimming" a bit in the pool.

our little fish (just not sure who you are)  :-)

the water was to cold for mommy.
After the swim and before hypothermia set in we got dried off and I was able to capture one of the my many favorite pictures from this day.
We had lunch and you took a nice long nap.   Lily you woke up first and came down stairs for some snuggle time with mommy.

I was planning on doing an art project, but the weather was kinda bad and we were all just a bit lazy.  I did however think that it was a perfect time to do pedi's on my little ladies.  It was so much fun.  You both sat on the step just as still as could be and I painted each of your little piggie toes hot pink.

This was such a fun day.  We didn't do anything big or exciting, but just had fun as a family and I got to enjoy my time as a mommy.  Thank you ladies for giving me that gift, it was the best gift I could have ever received!  Oh, so I don't forget.  You ladies made mommy some artwork at school.
