In Honor of Dr. Suess

It is Dr. Suess week at school in honor of his birthday which is March 2nd.  Today is crazy hat day. I had no idea what we would make, and almost forgot about it until I saw a message at around 7pm last night reminding me about it.  So I started planning and crafting.  I did the bands before you went to bed last night so I had the measurements right and then just let my imagination run wild.

The finished products...
You ladies were so excited to put them on and show your friends.  I thought they turned out pretty cute and a bit crazy.

I Love Mommy and Daddy Because...

On of the things that I love best about your school is how interactive it is.  Every week there is a large sheet of paper on the door or wall with a question and all your friends responses to that question.  The one this week was about Valentine's Day and Love.  Your answers were just so perfect that I had to capture this moment.

Valentines Day 2013

This valentine's day was also inspired by Pinterest.  Since we have moved to more real food/healthy eating I wanted to do something for the girls to bring to class that did not involve candy.  Last year I made crayons and I had every intention of doing that again, but time slipped away from me as it does more and more everyday.  So off to Pinterest I went in search of something fun, and I found the most adorable printables.  These were perfect.  I printed them and had some help cutting and when we got home I had you pick which one you wanted to give you.  Lily, you chose the apple and Emma, you chose the orange.

Since I only had two days to put this together I ran to the store and bought some bags and ribbon.  I found out the hard way that I bought the wrong bags and each apple and orange were lovingly stuffed into the bags.  You ladies were so excited to bring them to your friends and everyone that saw them thought it was a great idea.  I agree, it was a great idea, and it made me feel good.

So fast forward to the actual day.  When you woke up you saw the little mailboxes that we got for you with a few little goodies.  You are probably seeing the candy and saying "mommy didn't you say you wanted to stay away from candy."  You are right...this is a work in progress :)
You were excited to bring your treats to your friends for the school party.  I wished that I would have remembered your heart tights for your dresses, but you looked adorable without them.
"Vice-President" daddy surprised "President" mommy with flowers at work.  They are beautiful.
We went out for a "fancy" dinner to Tropical Smoothie, and had yummy ice cream from our favorite place Lofty Pursuits.  So much has changed over these past 4 Valentine's days.  This day is even more special to us because we found out we were pregnant with you on Valentine's day.

Quick Trip to Sebastian and Madelyn's Birthday

This past weekend we made a quick trip to Sebastian for Madelyn's 2nd birthday party.  You ladies have been excited since we received the adorable Elmo invitation.  I can honestly say that driving it not as awful as it was before.  You ladies are pretty content in the car.  We have the dual dvd players so that is helpful, but you also keep busy coloring, even though not all of it ends up in the coloring book Emma :).

I saw this shirt at the store and had to get it, it was perfect for our trip.
We took our time driving down and stopped in Jacksonville for lunch and to see daddy's college roommate.  You ladies first met him when you were 3 months old.  There were a few naps along the way.
Saturday was the big party.  When I saw these dresses at the store I knew you ladies had to have them.  They are so adorable and I wish the made them in mommy's size.
all ready for the party

Madelyn looked adorable, Auntie Nicole did a great job on her dress.
It makes my heart happy to see the three of you ladies together.  It doesn't matter how long it has been you three are like each others shadows.  I hope it stays like this forever.

It was such a great party and you ladies had a lot of fun playing with all of Madelyn's friends.

a quick family photo
After a quick nap, we want back to Madelyn's for a pizza party.  Some playing and fire watching with Papa.

I'll have my people call your people

On Sunday we headed home.  Mommy joined into the coloring fun in the car and did these for you ladies.

Shortly after we stopped for lunch I looked back and saw this.....another successful roadtrip in the books.
