Sickness
Do you remember the picture of Lily at daycare for the first time? Do you remember the toy in her mouth, well if you answered yes, than I bet you can guess where I am going with this. On Wednesday when I picked the girls up, they both had a bit of a runny nose. I thought hhm...that's interesting. Well as you could probably guess, Lil and Em woke up on Thursday morning with fevers and really runny noses. We knew that this would happen, but didn't expect it to happen quite so soon. I am so glad that we were able to go 10.5 months before getting sick.

First Day of School
We woke up bright and early this Monday morning. The girls were in good spirits and I think that they knew something new was happening. I'm positive that drop-off was more traumatic for mommy than the girls. Daddy and I left the girls in the very capable hands of Ms. Regina. There were some tears, but nothing to bad. A few hours later Ms. Debra, the director at the daycare, sent me some pictures and said that girls were having a great day. Here are the pictures from their first day.

The Next Chapter Begins....
We have been lucky for the past 8 months that Ms. Ginger has lovingly cared for the girls at home. Tomorrow they are starting daycare. We knew that this day would come. I am really excited for this new opportunity, but life as we know it is going to change. The bottles have been made and labeled. The bibs, burp clothes and blanket have been monogrammed. Breakfast, lunch and snacks have been packed and labeled. So tomorrow we are off to see Ms. Regina and ten other 10-12 month old friends. Wish us luck :-)

10 Month Photo Shoot
We did the girls 10 month photo shoot at Dorthy B. Oven Park. I had intended on doing this in July as a 9 month photo shoot, but somehow July got away from us, not quite sure what happened. To say that it was warm today would have been an understatement, it was down right hot! I love how the pictures turned out and the girls got a special treat at the end. I hope you enjoy the picture overload that will be coming.

I can see now
So we noticed over the weekend that Lily's bangs were getting really long, pretty much to the point where she could not really see. I had hoped to wait till she was a year old to cut her hair, but it was time.
So Ms. Ginger did the cutting for us, while I documented the event.

We have steps!
On Monday August 9, 2010 at approximately 10am Lily Claire took her first steps. It was the most amazing thing to witness. She just let go of the gate and took two step towards me. She was grinning from ear to ear. I was so happy to be able to see it. She did it several more times during the day and took three steps once daddy got home. At the rate she is going she will be walking by her first birthday!!!!!!

10 Months
Lily Bug and Emma Doodle...how is it that you are 10 months old. It seems like yesterday that we were in the hospital. I have absolutely loved the past few months. You are learning something new every day. You both love to walk behind your walking toy. Emma, you are very methodical when walking behind it. You take your time and really enjoy every step. Lily, you have one speed and that is FAST. You get behind the toy and you are across the room in seconds flat. You are no longer eating pureed foods. You are feeding yourselves sometimes and you love Greek yogurt. You have both started to clap which is so much fun, we sing "If Your Happy and You Know it" and you will both clap your hands...okay maybe not at the right time, but you are clapping :-) For the most part you are still wearing your 6 month clothes with a few 9 month outfits thrown into the rotation.
Good Morning Birthday Girls
Grandma and Grandpa came over and we went swimming
Your monthly pictures are getting more and more difficult to take. You would rather eat the paper then sit next to it and forget the bear, you tackle the poor bear.
